What: A complete Christmas dinner in one savoury pastry packet, including oven-roasted turkey, gravy, potatoes and homemade stuffing studded with Upper Canada cranberries.
Why: “I started making these for Christmas last year, and once people tasted them, they didn’t last very long,” says Arnprior’s Matt Grant, who started The Great British Pasty & Pie Co., two years ago, using Ottawa-area ingredients to make Cornish-style pasties. “Already this year I’ve sold 200 to 300 each market weekend.”
